DIY Wedding and Event Flowers

Have you ever been interested in learning how to create wedding and/or other event floral pieces? Formal or rustic centerpieces? Arbor sprays? Boutonnieres and/or corsages? Perhaps you are organizing a fundraiser dinner or someone you know is getting married in the next year or two and you would like to save money and create your own floral pieces, but you could use instruction in knowing where to buy the ‘perfect’ flowers and create the dreamy pieces you wish to have.

 

This 4-week class will be taught by 5-star floral designer Shirley Glines of Artisan Florals who has been the floral artist for many large events, including weddings at most of the top wedding venues throughout the Lakes Region of NH and beyond (Church Landing, Barn on the Pemi, Castle in the Clouds, Cold Spring Farm, Owl’s Nest Resort, and others.) In this class, you will learn how to procure the flowers you desire, which flowers and greenery to use, how to prepare your flowers for each design, how to create many types of floral pieces, how to treat the flowers to see them last longer, and other ‘tricks of the trade’ to make wedding and other event florals that have the ‘WOW’ factor. 

 
 
 

Welding Fundamentals: ARC,GAS,MIG&TIG- Tuesdays

This introductory class is taught by certified instructor Bruce Beckfor. This structured class is designed to learn the theory and practical hands on of Oxy- acetylene cutting, welding and brazing, Mig, Tig ,Stick welding plus plasma cutting and carbon arc gouging. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of this course. This is the first step into the welding field.

Open Shop Woodworking

Calendar Feb 11, 2025 at 6 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This class is intended for experienced woodworkers only.  Students must have successfully completed Basic Woodworking and Intermediate Woodwoork and be approved by the instructor for addmision or have a demonstarted an ability to complete complete intermediate to expert level work, and must have a demonstrated mastery of shop tools and equipment.  Students will provide their own project plans and materials.

Intro to Intermediate Woodworking - Shaker End Table

$120

Calendar Feb 12, 2025 at 6 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This class is intended to introduce woodworkers who have successfully completed the basic woodworking program, or who have prior woodworking experience, to the tools and techniques utilized in making furniture beyond the basic skills learned in the beginner class.  Students will be reacquainted with tools and practices developed in the beginner class, and will be exposed to tools, techniques, and skills which will allow them to take on more complex projects.

 

All students will build a Shaker style end table and advanced joinery will be demonstrated and practiced allowing students to develop skills needed for more complex carpentry and furniture making. With guidance and instruction students will select and acquire the materials necessary to construct the table. Plans and Material Lists will be provided.

Please not there is a a $20.00 Lab fee payable to the instructor on the first night of class.  

 

 

Basic Woodworking

This class is intended to expose beginning or aspiring woodworkers to the tools and techniques utilized in making basic furniture.  Students will create basic pieces of furniture intended to allow them to develop skills needed for more complex carpentry and furniture making, or to just allow them to have a fun and satisfying experience in a safe, suprervised environment.  

 Lab Fee $35.00 brought first day of class for materials.

In today's uncertain world, emergencies can strike unexpectedly. Whether it's a severe storm, a power outage, or an unforeseen event. Being prepared can make a significant difference in the safety and well-being of you and your loved ones.

Ready Lakes Region is a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) preparedness program based on a national curriculum. This program empowers individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to be better prepared for unexpected events. We believe in proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities. By participating in Ready Lakes Region, you'll gain valuable life skills like first aid, fire safety, and how to create a family emergency plan. Let's invest in our community's resilience together.

"While the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program may sound like it's all about responding to disasters, it's primarily focused on equipping individuals and families with essential preparedness skills. You'll learn valuable life skills like first aid, fire safety, and how to create a family emergency plan.

Completing this training qualifies participants to apply for membership in the Lakes Region Community Emergency Response Team/Medical Reserve Corps. This allows trained individuals to contribute their skills and support community emergency preparedness efforts.

Don't let the "C-Emergency Response T" title scare you off! This training is valuable for everyone, whether you want to actively volunteer in emergencies or simply improve your family's preparedness."

Cost: $30.00 includes Student Participant Manual, and course supplies.

Please not there is 1 saturday class held on May 10, 2025, and a class held in concord on April 30, 2025.
